On March 27-28, 2025, Dr. Thomas-Maccow, Director of Turning Point, led a roundtable at the Parliament of St. Maarten addressing the rise in suicides and mental health issues. Highlighting the connection between mental health, substance abuse, and suicide, Dr. Thomas urged a community-wide effort to tackle underlying social challenges. The discussion sparked strong support from local MPs for initiatives to improve mental health care and prevention strategies.
