CIBC FIRSTCARIBBEAN DONATES TO TURNING POINT

Turning Point’s Interim Director, Dr. Tasheena Thomas, RN, BSc, M.A., PhD and Program Manager, Mr. Oliver Wilson receive donation from Corporate Credit Manager, Terry Peterson at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank.

In commemoration of International Men’s Day, on November 19, CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank honored Turning Point’s clients who are bravely striving to overcome their struggle with substance abuse and addiction.

We thank CIBC FirstCaribbean for their kindness and generosity. We are thrilled to have their support. Donations like this one, are used to bolster our program and cover much needed supplies and services for our clients.

Turning Point relies on the continued help from our island community as we carry on successfully giving care, treatment, and hope to our clients, since our opening in 1990. During the past few years, we have all been facing unprecedented trials, caused by natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately the rise in fear, anxiety, and stress have also caused increases in substance abuse, drug overdoses, and corresponding mental illness globally and on St. Maarten as well.

As we work together through these difficulties, we ask that like CIBC FirstCaribbean, you will choose to support Turning Point as we support your loved ones in their fight against addition and substance abuse.

One or two entities cannot do it alone.

The government cannot do it alone.

This is an issue that affects us all.

This is the time for all of us to work together to heal our communities.
